I’m Sarah. I live in Lansing, Michigan. I am originally from a super small town in Mid-Michigan, where there are more cows than people, and I learned to drive a tractor before I learned to drive a car. I am a runner, wife, mom to human and a dog; I am also a Registered Dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Educator.
I’m also a realist, and that is what you will either love or hate about this blog. It’s going to be real, it may sometimes even border on pessimism at times (and I’m sorry in advance for that).
I also like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor, odds are if you know me, you will likely “hear me” coming through in my posts.
I started blogging because I saw so much crappy information on social media as a Dietetic Intern, and being a newly minted RD when I still lived in Chicago. I keep it going to today for the same reason, but also to cut through the bullshit of nutrition, motherhood, running, dieting. I like to say I live in the grey area (I live in a van down by the river of the grey area). MEANING?! This is NOT the place you will find testimonials on keto, but you’ll also hear me say “aspects of keto/a modified ketogenic diet will help some invidious with weight loss”.
It seems like right now there are two camps of black and white for almost every topic that is at the forefront of my life (and I can’t be alone): politics (are you right or left), being a new mom (do you breast or bottle feed), as a dietitian (are you pro dieting or anti dieting).
